The snow has melted, the temperature is rising and we’re all slowly defrosting from the brutal winter. While we’re excited for many things this spring (trying new brews, eating a bit healthier) nothing can quite top how excited we are for food festivals. Here are a few happening in the next few months that we’re hoping to be at.

April

Scottsdale Culinary Festival 

Date: April 13-14

Location: Scottsdale, Arizona

If you live somewhere that’s still a little bit frozen this time of year, head west to Arizona for this food festival. The Scottsdale Culinary Festival feature more than 35 local restaurants, live bands, a family fun zone and so much more.

Black Veg Fest 

Date: April 13

Location: Bronx, New York

For the second year in a row, Grassroots Artists MovEment is bringing Black VegFest to New York. The organization made history last year for bringing the first ever Black vegan fest to the city. The event will address socio-economic and political issues of the Black and Latino community, but people from all walks of life are encouraged to attend.

Chicago Tequila and Sangria Festival 

Date: April 27

Location: Chicago, Illinois

This festival is not for the light weights. This festival will offer a myriad of tequilas, sangrias and sprits. Ticket price will allow you to try up to 15 of them. Plus, there will be bartenders present to serve you up a drink (or two) of drinks of your choice.

East Harlem Nights

Date: May 10

Location: Union Settlement Community Garden

Harlem has long been known for its art, culture, music and food dating back to the Harlem Renaissance. The East Harlem Nights food festival was created to celebrate that and more. As the first night market of the neighborhood, The festival will have food, artisans and other local businesses to support. It’s also family friendly and FREE!

Colorado Chocolate Festival 

Date: May 10

Location: Denver, Colorado

With more than 30,000 square-feet of vendors, this festival is a chocolate lovers dream! You still have time to make the trip and enjoy an extended weekend in the area if you’d like.

African and Caribbean Food Festival  

Date: May 18

Location: Houston, Texas

Jerk chicken, beef patties, plantains, this event has it all. Enjoy authentic African and Caribbean cuisine as you dance along to traditional music.

Pints and Plants

Date: May 19

Location: St. Louis, Missouri

This plant-based event put on by Alpha Brewing Company will celebrate all the vegan restaurants St. Louis has to offer. Ticket comes with a commemorative beer glass, unlimited food and one pour of craft beer.

Casa Pacifica Wine, Food and Brew Festival

Date: June 2

Location: Camarillo, California

Casa Pacifica is a shelter that serves foster and at-risk youth and their families. Their programs provide youth with basic needs along with guidance, therapeutic support, physical and psychological healing. For 25 years, the festival has occurred to benefit the shelter.

Cordele Watermelon Festival 

Date: June 1-30

Location: Cordele, Georgia

Just under two hours outside the bustling city of Atlanta, is Cordele, a city known as the watermelon capital of the world. All the juicy details of this years event are available quite yet, but if you’re a watermelon lover, you won’t want to miss out.

Tacos, Tequila and Margarita Festival 

Date: June 21-22

Location: Indianapolis, Indiana

Tacos and margaritas go together like peanut butter and jelly or salt and pepper. Kick off the summer in the midwest at Indy’s Tacos, Tequila and Margarita Festival. And if you’re really into tacos and up for a challenge, enter the festivals taco eating contest!
