Looking to expand your food options outside of Miami? Try the Food Trucks at ArtsPark in Hollywood! ArtsPark at Young Circle, located at the intersection of Hollywood Blvd and US-1 about thirty minutes north of Miami, is an outdoor community space used mainly for various visual and performing arts. On Monday evenings, from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., the space bustles with people and lots of food!

ArtsPark has multiple spaces within it for different activities. There is a green space where you can have a picnic or run around with your dog. There is an amphitheater in the park used for movie nights. The food trucks on Mondays occupy a space along a walkway that partially encircles the green space. This allows visitors to purchase their food and then enjoy it picnic-style or at high tables to stand around enjoying their eats.

FOOD

There were over twenty trucks at ArtsPark on the evening that I visited. Can you imagine? I can be pretty indecisive, so my mind was swimming with all of the options. Foods ranged from savory Latin (including Cuban, Puerto Rican, Venezuelan, Mexican, Nicaraguan, and Argentinian), seafood, Caribbean and even tantalizing sweets (like rolled ice cream and churros).

After two laps through the food truck area, I decided two things: First, I absolutely MUST return multiple times to try all of the things; and second, I was going to have food from an interesting truck called Wontons On Wheels (W.O.W.) – a Caribbean and Asian Fusion food truck.

Wontons On Wheels is known for its take on wontons. However, I decided to try the shrimp burger. The chef described it as shrimp cut up and made into a patty, placed in a bun, on top of a bed of Asian slaw, topped with crispy wonton chips and their signature W.O.W. sauce, and a side of fries. The shrimp was very well seasoned and the W.O.W. sauce had a delightful kick. The fries were nicely seasoned too – not the typical salt – and the W.O.W. sauce was the perfect dipping condiment. Needless to say, I was one happy camper.

FINAL RATING

I give Food Truck night at ArtsPark five out of five trucks. The ambiance is great for a chill evening outdoors with friends, family, or by yourself. The variety of food is mouthwatering. I look forward to trying the stuffed egg rolls from World Famous Eggrolls and Jamaican eats from Jerk It Cuisine. Next Monday can’t come soon enough!
