What do you love about this recipe? What inspired it?
The best part of the recipe are the red balsamic, sweetened strawberries and the homemade biscuits. It’s simple and fresh dessert.The recipe was inspired by childhood memories of Dad woke me early in the morning to go strawberry picking.
Where did your love for cooking come from?
My love for cooking is inspired by my Dad. It probably started with the first sniff of Dad baking a cake when I was child.
Talk about My Life Runs on Food, why did you want to create it?
It’s a visual diary using my skill as a graphic designer and my love of cooking to create a food blog.
Vanilla Strawberry Shortcake
Ingredients
- 1 lb. strawberries; cleaned, hulled and sliced
- 1/8 cup vanilla or plain red balsamic vinegar
- One recipe for Buttermilk/Yogurt Biscuits
- 1 pint heavy cream
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 tsp. Sugar, more or less as needed
